Soy phospholipids and soy lecithin have essentially similar functions.

Lecithin is a type of mixture — a group of yellowish-brown oily substances found in animal and plant tissues as well as in egg yolk. At the same time, lecithin is renowned as the "third nutrient," alongside protein and vitamins.

Phospholipids generally refer to soy phospholipids, which consist primarily of soy phospholipid substances, along with neutral oils and other non-phospholipid components such as pigments, sugars, galactosides, and cerebrosides.

Phospholipids are a general class of lipids that contain various phosphorus-containing components. Soy phospholipids — also known as soy lecithin — contain phosphatidylcholine (lecithin), cephalin (phosphatidylethanolamine), cardiolipin, phosphatidic acid (PA), phosphatidylglycerol (PG), plasmalogens, lysophospholipids, and others.
